It appeared last Friday night that the Chicago Blackhawks would be unstoppable this season. One thing they didn’t count on, a fired up Colorado Avalanche squad. Your Avs succeeded in bringing the ‘Hawks back to reality, handing them a 6-2 defeat.
Now another big challenge comes to them tonight, in the form of the San Jose Sharks.
Colorado has been winless in the past five games against San Jose, but will strive to bring home a victory tonight, as this will be the final matchup between the two this season. The Sharks have amassed an impressive points streak of their own this season, with a 10-0-3 record. However, they have lost the last two games, with the St. Louis Blues coming from behind in the third period to take the game 4-3, in overtime.
Matt Duchene led Colorado with a goal and three assists in Friday’s game against Chicago, and Ryan O’Reilly contributed a goal and two assists of his own as well. Paul Stastny, P.A. Parenteau, John Mitchell, and Jamie McGinn also scored for Colorado.
Tonight’s game shall prove to again be no walk in the park for the Avs, and considering the current high they are riding to when the first puck drops at 6pm (no marijuana pun intended), you can believe they will play with a certain intensity that originated from Friday night’s big win!
